FIBERS
ALPACA FIBER
For many years, our ancestors, the Incas, worked with this extraordinary
commodity, "The Alpaca Fiber".
Nowadays techniques in the use of this fiber had improved to create fine
textiles and knitted fabrics. For many years, we've worked with this
fine natural hair that comes from ALPACAS, animal that lives in the
Peruvian Andes, in very cold and dry weather over more than 4,000 meters
above sea level.
There are 2 kinds of ALPACAS: Suri and Huacaya, these are the source of
this beautiful fiber of exceptional brightness and extraordinary texture,
its refinement goes from 19 microns (royal alpaca) 22 microns (baby
alpaca) to 36 microns (thick fiber). It's the only one in the world that
has such a wide variety of natural colors.
PERU FIBRAS, MAGIC AND QUALITY OF NATURE,
gives you today, at your will, a variety of knitted clothes with this
exclusive hair,
called "The Gold of the Andes"
COTTON FIBER
The Incas, famous because of their superior culture in witch the textile
art was an important part of this, made beautiful knitted clothes using
also the cotton fiber. Nowadays we've developed the most valuable
vegetable fibers that Peru has: Pima Cotton and Tanguis Cotton.
PIMA COTTON: This variety comes from the Metafiti Egyptian group,
taken to the USA were they produced the Giza, Yuma and Pima cottons,
being this last one the best because of its long thread. The Peruvian
Pima Cotton is grown in the north coast of this country, the combination
of the seed, the earth and the microclimate had made this cotton the
finest and with the longest thread in the world, only comparable with
the Egyptian cotton. It has a special brightness and a great softness.
TANGUIS COTTON: Developed by a Peruvian Engineer, whose last name
was Tanguis. As the pima cotton, this variety requires a special
microclimate to be developed. Itis grown in the central and southern
cost of Peru. This is a well recognized and one of the finest cotton in
the world.
